Annual Christmas Bazaar - November 12th!

2016 Annual Christmas Bazaar

Saturday, November 12th, 10:00AM until 4:00PM

New this year, there will be a “Treasures” Table, for new or fairly new items that you have at home that you have never used, don’t need/plan to use, and that you would like to donate. We will again have the special “Children’s Shopping Room” in the back of the hall. There will be items for children to purchase specially priced at only $.10 to $3.00.

If you would like to participate in this year’s bazaar, we are in need of:

  • Raffle Prizes - Donated raffle prizes will be grouped together and put into themed baskets, such as a Candle basket, Children’s basket, Beauty basket, etc. We are desperately in need of these, and also of gift cards. Your support is truly appreciated.
  • Children’s Books (please, excellent condition only) and D.V.D.s

If you have an item or items you would like to donate as raffle prizes or for the Treasures Table or Children’s Table, please bring to the Sacristy in a bag marked for “Peggy Pellerin”. Your support is very much appreciated. We can all work together to make this the best bazaar ever!!

Once again we’ll be having the Holiday Bazaar Raffle

First Prize is a Flat Screen TV - Second Prize is an IPAD

Third Prize is a $100 Gift Card to Holyoke Mall

Applications for crafters are still being accepted:

Thanksgiving Food Baskets

Every year Holy Name Parish collects a variety of food to provide Thanksgiving Meal Baskets for those in need in our neighborhood. To accomplish this, we ask those in our parish to bring canned food items or other types of food as noted below and leave it in the sacristy by the exit doors. You can do this anytime up until Monday, November 21st. The following is a suggested list for donations by last name. (Doing it this way enables a more even distribution of food.)

A-B Dry Milk, Gravy (canned or mixed)

C-D Coffee, Hot Chocolate

E-F Canned Pumpkin, Evaporated Milk

G-H Canned Vegetables, Cranberry Sauce

I-J Brownie Mix/Frosting

K-L Potatoes(fresh)-After 11/18 please

M-Mc Baked Beans, Jelly

N-O Cereal

P-Q Canned Fruit, Stuffing

R-S Dried Potatoes, Stuffing

T-U Dry Milk, Canned Vegetables

V-W Nuts, Raisins, Dried Fruit

X-Y-Z Brownie Mix/Frosting

We are also accepting monetary donations for turkeys. If you would like to donate, please send donations to the Rectory in an envelope labeled “Thanksgiving Turkeys”. Our parishioners have always responded so generously to this cause, and we thank you for your thoughtfulness and caring!

Altar Serving Training

A new class for altar servers will begin soon. Servers are boys and girls who have already received their First Holy Communion and wish to help their parish by offering their service on the altar. If you are interested, please fill out one of the forms at the entrances to the church and return it either in the collection basket or to the rectory. For more information, call Fr. Joyce at 733-5823.

A Request for Extra Food Help

Thank you for your continued generosity in donating food to the Open Pantry. They are very much in need of Macaroni & Cheese and Peanut Butter, but especially in need of SPAGHETTI SAUCE and CANNED CHICKEN. Whatever you can do goes a long way in helping families who need it most!

Special Note: We ask that you please check the expiration dates as well as the condition of the food items, as we cannot accept any damaged goods, any open or partially used food items, anything beyond the expiration date, and absolutely no “fresh” fruits or vegetables, breads, or baked goods. Thanks!
