The foundation of Schola is the pure “Love of Music” and the joy it can bring to the community. They are always so very pleased to be appearing at Holy Name Church. As always, there will be a Wine & Cheese Reception at the Social Center following the performance. The $2.00 donation enables us to have an accurate head count for the refreshments. New Practice Dates: SUNDAYS 3-17 AND 3-24 AT 9:15am. We are hoping to make it easier for our kids and parents to attend. We are receiving many compliments since the addition of Chloe Reed as Cantor and invite all our kids to join us up to age 12. On 3-24 we will practice at 9:15 AM and sing at the 10:30Mass following the practice. COME ONE, COME ALL!! Hoping for many new members to join.
As part of a diocesan-wide effort to address the abuse crisis through prayer and action, on the first Monday of Lent, March 11, Springfield Bishop Mitchell Rozanski has asked that all Catholic churches remain open throughout the day for a “Day of Prayer for Healing and Reconciliation.” We will have Adoration on this day here at Holy Name from 9a.m. to 5p.m. and hope you will please consider taking a few minutes out of your day to participate.
A shared Lenten reconciliation service (Holy Cross Church, Holy Name Church and St. Paul’s Church) will take place on Tuesday, March 19th, at Holy Cross Church, 221 Plumtree Road, Springfield, MA, starting at 5:30 p.m.
Springfield Bishop Mitchell Rozanski invites the Catholic community in western Massachusetts to participate in one of four regional listening/dialogue sessions addressing the sex abuse crisis in the Catholic Church. The sessions will allow the faithful to make their concerns known, offer observations, and ask questions of the bishop and diocesan officials. The two remaining sessions will be held on Monday, March 18, at St. Mary Church, Westfield, from 7-8:30 p.m.; and Sunday, March 24 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Hall, 10 Hawley Street, Northampton,6-7:30 p.m.

On January 19th & 20th, students from St. Michael’s Academy will be present at Mass to briefly share the benefits of a Catholic education. They will discuss some of their experiences and explain why they attend SMA. After Mass, they will be selling Calendar Raffles for $10 each. All proceeds support the programs of St. Michael’s Academy. The winners will be announced at the St. Michael’s Academy Pasta Supper on Saturday, February 2, 2019.
St. Michael’s Academy, 153 Eddywood Street in Springfield, will hold an Open House and Curriculum Fair on Sunday, January 27th from noon to 2 p.m. There will be a presentation promptly at noon for prospective students and their families and tours will be available. The Curriculum Fair will be open until 2 p.m. providing the opportunity to visit classrooms and have additional questions answered. We are “changing practice night” to see if more of you can make it. The first practice of the New Year will be on Monday, Jan. 14th at 6:30PM. We invite all kids up to 12 years of age to join us. We will also practice on Monday Jan. 21st, and sing at the 10:30 Mass on Jan. 27th. Come one, come all!!!!
