Roundtable Discussion on Issues concerning our Church/Diocese: For the past several months the parish of St. Cecilia�s in Wilbraham has sponsored a roundtable discussion on issues concerning our diocese and church. Holy Name will host the next discussion which is open to all parishes. The meeting will be facilitated by members of St. Cecilia�s parish and will be conducted on Monday, June 7th from 7pm to 8:30pm at Holy Name Social Center. All are welcome.

Summer Clothing....The Somali Family we are sponsoring needs children�s summer clothes for an 8-year old boy and 3 girls ages 2, 4 ,6 and newborn/infant clothes. The newly ordained Fr. Wayne Biernat will celebrate Mass at Holy Name on the weekend of June 12th and 13th. He will be the celebrant at the 4:30pm Saturday Mass on June 12. Following the 4:30pm Mass on June 12th there will be a reception in the Social Center in honor of his ordination. All are invited to attend.

 

On Sunday, June 13 he will be the celebrant at the 8:00am and 9:45am Masses and at the 11:30am Outdoor Mass at Heritage Park. A reception for the newly ordained Fr. Wayne will follow at the Parish Picnic.

 

Forever Young Club Luncheon...Mon., June 7th 12 noon at the Country Inn & Tavern.

The Forever Young Club is going on a trip to a Maine Lobster bake on Monday, June 14th. The cost is $55 to be paid in full. The bus leaves promptly at 7:30am. For reservations call Lena at 788-8726 or Florence at 733-3610.

 

The Annual Parish Picnic is next Sunday, June 13th at Heritage Park in East Longmeadow.The picnic will begin with an outdoor Mass at 11:30am celebrated by newly ordained Fr. Wayne Biernat. There will be face painting, games, a magician and other activities. Please join in this annual parish community event!Tickets are $5 per person or $15 per family. This is the last weekend to buy tickets!!

 

Holy Name Golf Tournament: The Holy Name Annual Golf Tournament will be held on June 19th at Franconia Golf Course. The fee is $75 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, prizes and dinner. Dwight D. Eisenhower started a program called People to People in 1956 in order to raise awareness of other countries and prevent war. Brian Stack, an altar server at Holy Name, hopes to participate in this program by playing in the World Friendship Games in Amsterdam, Holland. There he will be playing soccer, as well as other things like turning an old farm into a home for children with disabilities. Brian needs to raise $2000 to attend and is hoping to get some support from our parishioners.Please make checks to People to People or to Brian Stack. Sing for their Supper! A Pasta Dinner & Karaoke Night Fundraiser to Benefit Open Pantry Community Services will be held on Friday, June 25th at 6PM at the Elks Lodge #61 on Tiffany St. D.J. The St. Thomas More Society of the Diocese of Springfield will host a program on �Catholic Ethics in End of Life Medical Decision-Making� on Tuesday, June 8 at 4PM in the Bishop Marshall Center. The facilitator is Rev. James A. Donahoe, M.Th., JCD, Professor-Emeritus of Theology and Ethics at Boston College and St. John�s Seminary. There is no charge and all are welcome.

 

The Gray House will be holding its 6th annual Summer Breakfast on Saturday, June 12th at Crestview Country Club in Agawam. Breakfast will be served from 8:30-9:30am at a cost of $20 per adult and $10 per child. A Silent Auction & raffle will be held from 9:30-10:30am.
